Scams
Beware of Travel
Scams
Everyone loves to
believe that they can get a free trip to some exotic island in the
middle of
nowhere or a weekend trip to Vegas. There are some trips that are free
if you
go to a convention or meeting, but they want you to buy a timeshare or
participate in some sort of fast money making scheme.
If you decide to start looking into something that helps pay for part
or all of
your stay at your destination, please make sure you read the fine print
and
make sure it is a reputable company. The internet is full of scams and
empty
promises.
The obvious signs that you are being scammed is if they ask you for
personal
information like your social security number. They also want you to pay
first
then be reimbursed later, chances are they will be long gone with your
money
before you get there.
Don't answer suspicious emails that says you won a free trip to where
ever or
that you have been selected for a travel deal from a company you have
never
heard from. These types of emails are just fishing for your information
to
either sell to other people or try to scam you in some other way.
Take precaution and ask a lot of questions when deciding to go on a
trip when
there is a company offering you free rewards. If nothing else do a
search
online about the company in question to make sure there are no unhappy
customers, or a review of what you can expect.
